2. Data processing when visiting the website
When you open the site, your browser transmits technically necessary data to our hosting provider, processed in server log files: IP address, date and time, requested file/URL, referrer URL, browser type and operating system.
Purpose: secure connection setup, stability and security of the site. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Log data is deleted once no longer needed for these purposes, usually within a few days.
3. Hosting (Vercel)
Our website is operated by Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA). Vercel provides server infrastructure, function execution and image optimization, processing personal data (in particular IP addresses and server logs) on our behalf. Processing takes place in a data center in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Vercel. As a US company, access from the USA may occur in individual cases; where it does, it relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
4. Contact form
When you use our contact form, we process the data you provide (name, company, email address, phone number, preferred contact channel and your message) to handle your request. The data is sent by email to our inbox.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures), otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). To prevent abuse and spam we apply request rate limiting and automated bot detection on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted once your request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
5. Processors
We use carefully selected service providers, each under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR:
- Vercel Inc. (USA) – hosting, function execution, image optimization and bot detection; execution takes place in the EU (Frankfurt). Plus anonymous web analytics (see section 6).
- Database provider (EU/Frankfurt) – request rate limiting and storage of consent records.
Where we name a provider above only by category, we will disclose its identity to you on request.
6. Web analytics (Vercel Web Analytics)
With your consent we use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregated audience measurement (e.g. page views and Web Vitals). The service works without cookies, builds no cross-device profiles and does not track you across other websites.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time, with effect for the future, via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
7. Consent management and proof
To store your cookie choices and — as required by Art. 7(1) GDPR — be able to demonstrate them, we log each consent decision: timestamp, chosen categories, the version of this notice and a pseudonymized (hashed) IP address. These logs are stored in a database in the EU (Frankfurt).
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation to be able to demonstrate consent) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a tamper-evident record).
8. Data security
Data is transmitted encrypted via TLS (recognizable by “https://” and the padlock icon in your browser).
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), as well as the right to withdraw any consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, a message to ed.scitobor-ssuag@ofni is sufficient.
10. Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, lfd.niedersachsen.de.
11. Changes
We will update this Privacy Policy when the website or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
